LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Paramount+ just released their highly anticipated series 'Knuckles' on Friday, April 26 and the fans are extremely disappointed with the show, to say the least.

Created by John Whittington and Toby Ascher, 'Knuckles' picks up where 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' left off. The series focuses on Knuckles the Echidna, played by Idris Elba, who struggles to adapt to life on Earth while longing for adventure as a warrior.

As the narrative develops, the playful training is interrupted by a strange secret threat that might endanger Knuckle's life.

Fans rebuke 'Knuckles' for its poorly-written story and underutilized characters

Fans rushed to X to share their thoughts on 'Knuckles'. One angry fan commented, "I think it is kinda sad that Knuckles keeps being treated like a kind of joke. He is one of the few characters in the Sonic franchise that has a solid lore that could be explored more, but for some reason no one takes advantage of it," while another wrote, "Such a shame."

One fan said, "Knuckles is my favorite Sonic character so seeing how lost the show got after the first couple of episodes I was just like... "okay why are we not focusing on the MAIN ATTRACTION??" Really could have been something cool."

"Feels like ever since the knuckles meme days knuckles has just been treated as a joke," wrote another disappointed fan.

One fan wrote, "Episode 4 was such wasted potential because the lore itself is interesting! They managed to fit Knuckles in with the Flames of Disaster but the problem was it was being told in a comedic fashion."

Another commented, "It’s annoying too as a knuckles fan the amount of times he/ his lore is unused to its fullest potential."

A viewer, upon revisiting the series for the second time said, "I’m very disappointed. Currently in my second watch and it just doesn’t get better. I was hopeful. The trailers looked good. It’s not like I was expecting some huge lore dump, but to have him so sidelined like that was almost insulting."

"He deserves so much better he’s fearless, noble, Protects his friends, and has the heart of the warrior. But for some reason everyone always focuses on “Oh Eggman tricked him so he’s an idiot” and make it his whole personality," wrote one disheartened fan.

An agitated fan expressed, "Seriously. I have a whole rant on how they could have given him more backstory and a character arc for the show, using only lore from the movie continuity!"
